Oregon Consumer Privacy Notice

The Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA) provides Oregon residents with several rights regarding the collection, access to, deletion, and sharing of certain personal information collected about them. These rights include the following*:

  • The right to know whether your personal data has been processed or is being processed, and the categories of personal data that has been processed or is being processed;

  • The right to know a list of third parties, other than natural persons, to whom your personal data has been disclosed;

  • The right to request a copy of your personal data that has been processed or is being processed;

  • The right to request the correction of inaccuracies in your personal data;

  • The right to request deletion of your personal data;

  • The right to opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling (as that is defined in the OCPA); and

  • The right to appeal a response to any of the above requests.

 

Submitting a Request to Know, Request to Delete, Request to Correct, and Request to Opt Out

In order to process your Request to Know, Request to Delete, Request to Correct, and Request to Opt Out you must provide the following information so that Credit Acceptance can verify your identity by comparing the personal information you provided to us against the records in our systems: 

  • Name

  • Address

  • Phone Number

  • Account Number (if applicable)

  • If you wish to receive a response via mail, the address to which the response should be sent

  • If you wish to receive a response via e-mail, the e-mail address to which the response should be sent

Making requests on behalf of others

If you wish to make a Request to Know, Request to Delete, Request to Correct, or Request to Opt Out on behalf of someone that is subject to a guardianship, conservatorship, or other protective arrangement, you must submit the request to the mailing address or e-mail address specified above, and include a copy of the guardianship, conservatorship, or protective arrangement issued by a court form If you wish to make a Request to Know, Request to Delete, Request to Correct, or Request to Opt Out on behalf of someone that is subject to a guardianship, conservatorship, or other protective arrangement, you must submit the request to the mailing address or e-mail address specified above, and include a copy of the guardianship, conservatorship, or protective arrangement issued by a court.

  1. Written, signed authorization from the consumer giving the individual identified the authority to make a Request to Know and/or Request to Delete on their behalf; OR

  2. An authorized power of attorney pursuant to California Probate Code Sections 4000 to 4465 which sufficiently provides the authorized party with the authority to make a Request to Know and/or a Request to Delete, or generally access an individual’s personal information. 

Failure to submit a Request to Know or Delete on someone else’s behalf as specified will result in the request being denied.

Credit Acceptance does not knowingly collect the personal information of any consumer 16 years old or younger.
